The model for City as Our Campus encourages educators to go beyond traditional teaching methods. Each students has their own approach to learning, which leads teachers to adapt their curriculum to accommodate the variety of learning styles that enter their classroom.
Educational theorist David Kolb understood this and published this learning style model in 1984. Kolb’s theory is concerned with the learner’s internal cognitive processes and the four steps of the learning procedure. Similar to City as Our Campus, Kolb’s model views new experiences being the springboard for the development of new concepts.
