Students conduct research through various courses and independent projects with the help of local mentors.
As part of the science curriculum, students are regularly engaged in research projects, citizen science activities, and demonstrations with the help of local experts from Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, Chatham University, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and other research-focused groups.
Students also have the option of pursuing independent projects with the mentorship of WT teachers and community experts.
This work helps students to discover their passions while connecting and contributing to scientific research. Past projects have focused on yeast, insects, cancer, biomedical issues, invasive species, and environmental topics.
