Artist Residencies

Art electives are enhanced with the addition of artist residencies.

Most of the Upper School arts electives include short-term artist residencies and workshops that help the students to deepen their learning of specific techniques and meet working artists.

These residencies are dependent on the course, discipline, teacher, and student interests but generally include multiple workshops or visits. Some examples include Raku workshops at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, a trimester-long residency with local mosaic artist Steven Sadvary, or a multi-week partnership with Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
